“CIB Egyptian Squash Open” Men’s and Women’s PSA Platinum event to take place for the second year running by the iconic Pyramids of Giza
The Commercial Bank of Egypt (CIB) announces the return of the “CIB Egyptian Squash Open” Men’s and Women’s Platinum event by the iconic Pyramids of Giza, for the second year in succession. The event will be organized by I-Events and will take place from 10th to 17th October 2020.
The tournament is considered one of the 8 biggest platinum events in the world, bringing together the best 96 men and women squash players from 19 different countries, with a total prize money of $540,000 for both Men and Women. This is the largest sum of prizes for squash tournaments this season since the emergence of the Covid-19 outbreak. The early round matches will be taking place at New Giza Sporting Club, while matches at the Glass Court will commence on October 12th.

Last year, Egyptian players had an outstanding performance with Nour El Sherbini and Karim Abdel Gawad capturing the titles, that proved to the world that Egypt is the land of squash during the “CIB PSA Women’s World Championship ” and “CIB Egyptian Squash Open” which brought together the best 64 women players and 48 men players from 20 different countries.
