It’s great for both of us!
The court was slippery, and the conditions are tough enough without us having to wonder at what moment we are going to slip… But thank God, we both got off with no serious injury.
I felt I was playing well, finally after a bad period, but at 3/3 in the second, I started to feel that the ref was not consistent at all, and when it got repeated and repeated I lost a bit of concentration, lost that game. But after that, it seemed that the match balanced out fine decision wise.
I had a rough start of the season. I think two factors got in play. One, Raneem retiring and expecting our first child. Two, the lockdown, well, I sort of got used to our new life, which I never had, a normal life, and I was not sure I wanted to go back to being on the move all the time.
But thank God, I have found my hunger again, I’m again happy to compete, and I’m sure I’m going to get the results, and if not this time, it will come soon, because I’ve done the work. And today, I think I played a decent match.
