I would love to play somebody else than Nour, it’s the fourth time I think… No, it was a good match, I was up 9/6 in the second, I should have closed up, I am struggling to find those finishing shots, I am not sharp enough, so against a top 5 player, it’s not good enough.
But a lot of positives to take from it. A good match.
Nour
It was my first match after the final, I wanted to move on from that feeling as quickly as possible. Thing is, it’s the second time in a major final (US Open a couple of years back) against Nouran I was up 2/0 and match ball up, and again this time, 2/0, and I seem to panic, and stop playing/seeing the ball.
But since last week’s final, I had the time to reflect, and realised that two finals in two events, is really not bad at all, quite good actually. And I’m quite excited to play another event right away, that way I’m not going to get fixed on that final.
Three tournament in 4 weeks, I never done that, so it’s a good test for me. We’ll see how it goes. But today, I’m happy with the way I played against Melissa, who is a player that plays a very similar game to Camille, they all follow in her footsteps. Happy with my performance, and the way I hold my nerves.
