Nour clinical against Salma

QF: [4] Nour El Tayeb (EGY) 3-0 Salma Hany (EGY) 11-6, 11-5, 11-5 (35m)

A clinical, up for it and roaring CIB Catwoman Nour El Tayeb, was eager to avenge her defeat 3/1 in the ToC in January, her only defeat against CIB Salma Glamour Hany. Funny as both players play for the same club, BlackBall, and the two coaches were behind the glass tonight, no pressure… (Hosam Naser for Nour and Sergamy for Salma).

Not sure that CIB Salma did much wrong to be honest, but Nour was pushing her so far back that she had to take her chances from not perfect positions, which led to a few too many errors, in particular in the 3rd, 5 errors plus 2 strokes, that’s a lot of points given away.

Nour
“It actually felt very tough. Salma beat me the last time she played, and at 2-0 up, I know she came back to beat Joelle [King] the other day, so it was very tough all the way.

“She has been getting better every tournament and every day. I train with her a lot so I know how much better she is getting. To get the win in three today is a job very well done.

“I will figure it out how to break Nour El Sherbini down later, but it is always exciting to play her in a semi-final or a final. It is the one player that you want to test yourself against because she is one of the best. Hopefully tomorrow will be a good and intense match.”
