SEMIS Preview and Stats

First up it’s Karim Abdel Gawad, aiming to repeat his Pyramids triumph of three years ago, against Wales’ Joel Makin, appearing for the first time at this level. Men’s top seed Ali Farag, who lost to Gawad in the last final held here, meets New Zealand’s Paul Coll, fast becoming a familiar foe, in tonight’s third match.

The first women’s semi sees Top seed and 2017 World Champion Raneem El Welily take on compatriot Nouran Gohar in the first women’s semi which promises to be a cracker.  Last up, defending World Champion Nour El Sherbini – who won the title for the third time just seven months ago in Chicago – meets yesterday’s comeback Princess (well, she’s only 19) Hania El Hammamy.
