Q1: Rowan contains Emyr 3/1

Rowan Damming (NED) 3-1 [12] Emyr Evans (WAL)  12-10, 7-11, 11-6, 11-7 (59m)

A pretty fair match, only contention was on the last point, Rowan played a lovely shot to the front, called good by the ref, I didn’t see it as Rowan’s body was hiding it from my sight. Emyr was adamant it was good. A few other people around the court saw it good as well but so hard to end like that!

Rowan

I studied footage of his matches, three matches I watched, and with my two coaches, we made a game plan that worked really well. I could do it sometimes, and sometimes I couldn’t. I also lost concentration like at the end, I was 7/2 up, and he came back, and it became quite scrappy for me in my head.

But at the end, I’m really happy to get the win!

I live in Eindhoven, SquashTime, where they played the World Champs in 2016.

Tomorrow, I play against Ryunosukue, and we never played. I’ve never seen him play either. I felt pressure before the match today but only because I made it myself, I was the lower seed, but I really wanted to win the match.

And tomorrow as well, no pressure ranking-wise, but pressure in my head because I want to win every match…
