The first PSA Diamond Level event of the season continued with four quarter-final matches from the bottom half of the draws at the Pyramids, played out without any spectators due to a Royal visit to the Pyramids.
In the women’s matches Fayrouz Aboelkheir stunned defending champion Nour ElSherbini as she won a five game thriller, setting up a semi-final with Amina Orfi who repeated her London Classic win over Siva Subramaniam.
Second seed Diego Elias eased past Jonah Bryant, while in the second men’s match France’s Victor Crouin ousted Fares Dessouky, also in straight games.
