The first PSA Diamond Level event of the season continued with four semi-final matches at the Pyramids.
Hania El Hammamy stunned top seed Nouran Gohar in straight games in one of three all-Egyptian semis, which saw Mostafa Asal and Amina Orfi advance, alongside Diego Elias.
That was Hammamy’s first ever straight-games win over Gohar, setting up a final with Orfi, who ended the run of Fayrouz Aboelkheir in straight games.
In the men’s semis top seeds Asal and Elias both came from a game down to beat Karim Abdel Gawad and Victor Crouin.
