The conditions were not easy for either of us really. The courts are pretty slippery, and it was all about adapting to those conditions. I tried and persuaded myself it was part of the conditions that t couldn’t change, and tried to anticipate a possible slip all the time, like lifting the ball at the front to prevent playing it on me, little things like that. It was more of a mental battle than anything really, a tactical adjustment as well.
Maybe my movement was a bit lighter than his, that helped me not to slip that much as well. But it was not easy for sure.
In the fist game, we were both playing a bit all over the place, too fast, and I think I was holding my shots better, so in the second, he dropped the pace, while I was trying to keep it up. It became a more structure and clean squash, but I still managed to get the ball to the front.
