[4] Amina Orfi (EGY) 3-1 [7] Sivasangari Subramaniam (MAS) 11-6, 11-8, 4-11, 11-9 (62m)
What a quality match. And Siva was so close to push the Detroyer to a 5th game. But what an amazing QUALITY SQUASH MATCH that was.
Amina was lethal in the first 11m, 4/0, 9/1. A good come back from the Malaysian Star, only bowing 11/6. Two errors each.
The second is much much closer, not much between them from 3/1 Amina 3/3, 4/4, 5/5. For the first time of the match we have a Siva lead, 7/5. But Amina will close the second in two hands, 11/8.

O error from Amina, 4 from Siva.
Looking good for the Egyptian, but out of the blue, Siva finds her best lines and width. Pushing Amina to the four corners, she makes it look easy, 6/0, 7/2, and 11/4, 11m.
Still no error from Amina, , only one from Siva.
The fourth is nailbiting. Apart from the 2/0 up from the Malaysian at the start of the game, not a point between them from 2/2 to 9/9.
A clipping of the tin from the Malaysian at that point – her first error of the game, can you believe it – and it’s a winner for Amina. Huge shouts of relief from her camp. 11/9 15m last game.
Two errors from Amina, 1 from Siva.
Incredible match. Intensity. A few too many calls for it to be a classic, Amina reminded several time to leave her opponent a clear path the the ball, and even penalised for it with a conduct stroke.
But the match was one for learning how to defend and attack with style and accuracy. Loved it.
Amina
“Well I think she played better today than in London and obviously the court is very different her to the one in London. This time I think she was more prepared but thankfully I was able to win. I think she is the player that I have played the most on tour – I think we have played seven times now! It’s very tough to end the season playing her and start the season playing her in back-to-back events.
“I think in the pre-season I focussed on that a lot. I know I have a strong back-court game, but I know I can go short. It’s just a matter of practise. I think when I needed to go short today, I did, and thankfully it helped me win this match.
“Me and Fayrouz have played a lot in juniors, there’s only a year difference between us. We’ve played a lot, we grew up playing national tournaments together. I’m looking forward to that one tomorrow.”
