Very happy with a 3/0 victory, the goal is to qualify, not just to be in the final, I want to win to get through to a big tournament.
Yesterday was a bit tough. I guess it was the first match, I wasn’t used to the court, maybe some pressure on me. But today, I felt very good, very happy with my performance, and through to tomorrow’s final.
[3] Haya Ali (EGY) 3-2 [14] Barb Sameh (EGY) 7-11, 11-6, 6-11, 11-9, 11-9 (51m)
The quality of the match was incredible I thought. Both players so accurate, patient, retrieving beautifully, attacking, defending. What a privilege to witness such talents.
The 5th is so heart-breaking for the Barb camp, as the young 18 years old was leading the whole game, 4/1, 5/2, 8/5, 9/7…. only to be caught at 9/9, and losing the final game 11/9. But what a match!

I feel I was a bit up and down mentally today.
Today was our first time to play, I didn’t know what to expect, except that she was a very dangerous opponent, and a tough match. So it was a bit tricky.
She is still young, she is the underdog, nothing to lose. She is a very very talented player, physically and mentally. She has a very good squash, so it was very very hard to manage all those factors!
I think I managed to get myself stable after going down 2/1. I told myself I had nothing to lose now, she is 2/1 up. And I didn’t to lose, so I stuck to my plan, trying to keep my calm, to manage the game, and I think it paid off.
