[11] Moustafa Elsirty (EGY) 3-1 Matias Knudsen (COL) 7-11, 11-5, 11-9, 11-8 (62m)
Moustafa : Matias stayed with me for a long time, we are good friends. The match went pretty smooth, I’m sad that he lost but at the end of the day, we are good friends, but close the door of the court, we are not friends anymore..
He played fantastic today, one of the best matches I ever saw him play, he was coping with the pace, and pushing till the end. I’m pretty proud of the way he managed to put me under tremendous pressure.
First game I was not tactically sharp enough, big shout out to Youssef Soliman who helped me to get through today. My shots were pretty short at the beginning, so I had to get it to the back, so I was opening more opportunities for mysef. Also, he told me to take away his chances to play his shots, as his hands are immaculate.
I feel physically much better as well than I did last season, I didn’t feel tired at the end of the match, massive shout out to my coaches, Bidou and Mark Burns and Coach Nasser. They all work together to try and get me as fit as possible to be able to handle those rallies consistently.
Tomorrow, I’m played the winner of Ivan and Yannick, two good friends as well. I hope they have a looooong five setter….
