[LL] Yasshmita Jadishkumar (Mas) 3-0 Mariam Metwally (Egy) 11-9, 12-10, 11-7 (35m)

Malaysia’s Yasshmita Jadishkumar has enjoyed a superb start to the 2026/27 PSA Squash Tour season, sitting at a career-high rank and recently reaching the final of the NASH Cup.

And despite losing out in the final round of qualifying in Cairo, the 22-year-old Lucky Loser has taken full advantage of her second opportunity after taking down [17/32] seed Mariam Metwally in straight games.

A second Lucky Loser winner of the day here in Cairo!

Yasshmita : “This time last year was when I first moved to Egypt; I was here but not even in the Qualifying event. So one year later, making the main draw is a dream come true. Winning the first round is more than I could have imagined, so I’m so happy and proud of myself.

“It’s been a tough 12 months, so many ups and downs, but I’m at my highest ranking right now. I’m so grateful to my coaches for helping me through and believing in me.

“I got into a World Event final this season already, at the NASH Cup, and then to win my first round at my first Diamond event, it’s stronger than I could have ever imagined, to be honest. I’m really looking forward to more.”
