Nadien Elhammamy (Egy) 3-0 Nour Aboulmakarim (Egy) 11-5, 11-5, 11-5 (30m)
A quality showing from 19-year-old Nadien Elhammamy on the all-glass court as she comes through the all-Egyptian duel with Nour Aboulmakarim with a clinical straight-games performance.
World No.33 Elhammamy showing plenty of good signs for the season ahead with this performance, not allowing Aboulmakarim many openings at all to get a foothold in the match.
Awaiting Elhammamy in the second round of the Egyptian Open is World No.2 Hania El Hammamy.
Nadien : “I try not to focus on my opponent as much as I focus on my own game and performance, to be honest.
“I think I played very well today, I’m happy with my performance and happy to play tomorrow.
“Having my coaches and my family with me here today has been brilliant. It makes it extra special.”
