Lucy : It was really challenging, mentally, to stick to what I know I needed to do.
I had a very simple gameplan, Nadine is so unpredictable and attacking, you just have to get the ball to the back. We’d practiced it but when you’re on court with someone trying to beat you, it’s different. I didn’t quite get it right today but in those last two games I managed to get it right when it counted.
I think that has a lot to do with my mindset, I managed to clear my mind and restart at 2-1 down.
I’ve been working on a lot of things during the summer. There’s a lot I’ve changed, I’ve changed my coach and my environment and other things, too many to mention, but I’m seeing those in the first two matches and I’m happy with it.
