Nada

It’s always tricky to play SJ, she is a very tall lady, and this time it’s was way trickier. I wasn’t really prepared, my draw kept changing!

I was not top 16, then I got top 16, so I was preparing to play Rowan, then a week before the tournament, someone pulled out, so I was preparing to play Salma, yesterday Salma pulled out, and so I had to start preparing for SJ!

SJ is very skillful, she is very tall, she knows how to move the ball pretty well, I had to make sure my balls were tight. I was trying to move her around in the right timing, it’s very tricky when it comes to play short against SJ. She has the skills, the reach, she has everything.

So whenever you want to go short you have to be so sure. I was very aware of all those factors and I’m really happy I got through.

I was lucky enough to have my main coach Haitham Effat here in Cairo for the whole summer. But he left 2 weeks ago, and so when he is away, I’m training with Sady Sarwat.

I’m playing Siva next round, we grew up together, we were playing the whole junior career together, however, we only played once as juniors, our last British Open U19. And the last time we played was something like 2017…

Siva is a great player, I respect her a lot, she inspires me how she came back from that accident, everything she went through and she kept pushing. I’m just looking forward to playing her and I’m sure it’s going to be a great match, a clean match…
