[2] Amina Orfi (Egy) 3-0 [16] Rowan Elaraby (Egy) 11-9, 11-6, 11-6 (52m)
A very tense match between those two talented players today. I thought that Mohamed Orfi, Amina’s dad, was going to have several micro strokes every time Amina was penalised… God bless you Mohamed…
Today, a bit like in the first women’s match, where Amanda managed to upset Hania’s rhythm, I felt that Rowan, with her chess-like /Karim Abdel Gawad placement of the ball all around the court, her height and width, really desynchronised the perfectly balanced Amina.
A few too many calls were given to Amina. Not sure it was intentional; I feel it was maybe that imbalance I mentioned, but what do I know. Still, Rowan played such a great intelligent squash today, and she will have to be happy with the level she is back at now: she can challenge the best of the best…
