Dessouky and Fiechter beat fifth seeds to gatecrash the quarters
Day Three went mostly to seeding at Club S as the quarter-finalists were decided, but both fifth seeds departed as Fares Dessouky beat fifth seed Mohamed ElShorbagy in five rumbustious games, while Olivia Fiechter beat Joelle King for one of her best wins.
In the men’s draw Dessouky joins seven of the top eight seeds, while the women’s features the top four seeds as well as surprise quarter-finalists Hollie Naughton and Tesni Evans.
