That was an interesting one!!
At the beginning, I guess Egypt is tough for everybody, and I haven’t figured it out yet.
When I had an energy dip, right at the beginning, I couldn’t get the ball passed him, he was hitting it so good, and he basically made me look like a beginner. I was stuck behind him, he was running me everywhere, I kept saying ‘good shot’!
I didn’t hit the tin! He just killed me.
But eventually, I was like, it actually relaxed me a bit, so I was feeling really tense, I couldn’t get the ball pass him, and it was so bad I just relaxed, and thought just get the ball back, and try to keep the ball away from him.
So I turned into hack mode, I passed him, and then he had to do some running, whereas for the first two games, he didn’t have to work at all. And that was kind of annoying. So I had to move him off the T, got to get him moving. And once that happened, it became more close.
We had a few moments in the 3rd and fourth where it could have gone either way but I happened to win the point, and keep a bit of a lead against him, he was not allowed to shoot as much.
I got the momentum back, and just kept it. Which is awesome. I’m glad I didn’t give up, I could have totally thrown the towel so badly, but I had put so much work in, I’m so SICK of not showing out here. So I’m happy to show that I’ve done a lot of work, and I’m not going to give up, and I’ll be tough to play.
It’s a nice win to get, even though it was a bit of a rollercoaster.
So, here we have my first EVER win in Egypt!
You can see, these guys they play so well, it’s so hard to get a win on the Tour, and me in Egypt, it’s been all the same every time, it’s hard for me to get comfortable. That’s one of the most impressive thing I would say about the top players. When they don’t feel good? They play hard. They don’t give up. That’s something I’ve been trying to do. And I’m really happy I’ve shown that.
